Welcome to Event Volunteers Orientation
This 3 hour course is open to any new Event Volunteer.

If you haven’t attended any training with us before this is for you. This training is designed for those who are new to Event Volunteers. The orientation includes an introduction to Event Volunteers, what happens at events and our role at events. We also explore and upskill you in Safety (personal, spectators / general public, event partners), Managing risks, Safeguarding, Crowd Safety and Dynamics, Problem solving steps as well as Diversity, Mental health and disabilities. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance. This course is delivered by one of the Event Volunteers Team.

Leave No Trace Awareness Course
This full day outdoor course is open to any Event Volunteer who has volunteered 4 hours. We in Event Volunteers care about our sustainability and environmental impact at events. We want you to better understand how we can minimise our impact at events. This full day outdoor Awareness Session will introduce to the principles, ethics and mission of Leave No Trace. The course will be delivered through presentations with an experiential-based emphasis, in an outdoor setting. All attendees will receive a Leave No Trace Certificate of Attendance.

Safety at Festivals and Events
This 3 hour training course is open to Event Volunteers who have volunteered 12 hours.

At this training we will explore safety at festivals and events, exploring what can go wrong and how we can help events run safely by bring the eyes and ears of the Event Manager. This course will be led by a Safety Officer from the event management sector.

Managing Volunteers at Festivals and Events
This full day course is open to Event Volunteers who have volunteered 12 hours

Volunteers play a key role in making events and festivals a success. They can fulfill a range of roles such as managing your social media, welcoming your guests, finding sponsors or capturing video footage of your event allowing you to promote the work you do. This course has been designed to support you to develop the skills and knowledge to effectively recruit, manage and make the most of event volunteering. We will share our own experience of managing volunteers at festivals and events – from small conferences to national festivals with over 900 volunteers. This course is for our Team Leaders to help them better understand how Event Volunteers runs. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Introduction to Safeguarding
This 3 hour training course is open to all Event Volunteers who have volunteered 4 hours.

This Safeguarding / Child protection training is important for everyone no matter what your occupation nor how frequently you work with children and / or their families. This Introduction to Safeguarding Children course is a positive first step towards increasing and improving your knowledge and will help you to be a better Event Volunteer. The course uses a variety of written text, interactive exercises and real-life cases to help you understand more about your responsibilities. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Mind your Mental Health
This full day course is open to all Event Volunteers who have volunteered 4 hours.

We care about our Event Volunteers and your Mental Health and that’s why we are introducing Mental Health Ireland’s newly developed one day training module, Mind Your Mental Health. This full day training is an introduction to the topic of mental health and well-being and provides an opportunity for participants to reflect on mental health and to learn strategies to enhance this. This course is delivered by a trained practitioner from Mental Health Ireland.
