Cricket Ireland Tri Nation Series, Malahide (Friday 12 & Sunday 21 May 2017)

EIreland v Sri Lanka Cricket, photo by Jehan Mubarakvent volunteers are back at Fortress Malahide for 2017 Cricket Ireland ODI Tri Nations Series on Friday 12 and Sunday 21 May 2017.

Volunteers will be involved in welcoming spectators and providing support to the Events Team. We were looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles covered seating arrangements of the event and we got them. Full orientation, support and recognition will was provided. Roles were open to those aged 16 and over.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of an exciting and important day for cricket in Ireland. References can also be provided for volunteers if they wish. Catering will also be provided for all volunteers.

Getting there
The easiest way to get to Malahide Cricket Ground is by DART Train You can check timetables on the Irish Rail Web Site.

The nearest bus stop to the venue is Bus Stop No. 3636 Dublin Road / Yellow Walls Road Routes serving this stop: 102 (Dublin Airport) 142 (UCD Belfield) 42 (Talbot Street). 42d (Portmarnock) There is no dedicated event parking, however there will be parking available within the grounds of Malahide Castle.

Battle for the Bay, Dollymount (Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 May 2017)

Battle for the Bay 2017The concept of the Pure Magic Battle for the Bay Water Sports Festival is very simple: Fun, Wind, Water…and Fun!!! The best riders in the country and from around the globe will come and compete in one of the best kitesurfing spots in the world: Dollymount Beach! Home to the Puremagic gang.

Everyone is welcomed, young and old, to join this amazing celebration of Irish Kitesurfing, SUPing and Dublin style beach fun. You can expect loads of surprises during the bumper packed weekend! You can also visit the Battle for the Bay Facebook page and you can view a video which highlights last year's event. We require volunteers for both Saturday and Sunday Shifts.

Volunteer roles will include:

  • Welcoming and assisting with directions / parking (off the beach)
  • General Ambassador roles on the beach gives information
  • Practicing Leave No Trace and supporting the cleaning team in keeping the beach and island clean.
  • Alerting the security team for any concerns or issues our team may have

Dublin Rose Festival, Clontarf (Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 July 2017)

Dublin Rose Festival Photo by Eddy CarrollThe Rose Festival takes place in St Anne’s Park, Mount Prospect Avenue, Clontarf on the third weekend of July, annually. The Festival is a mix of food, arts and crafts, music and family fun. It has a seated picnic area in front of the music stage. The festival is open from 10.00 to 18:00 on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July.

We are looking for experienced Event Volunteers who have attended previous events with us to man our Volunteer Hub where you'll be telling potential new Event Volunteers about our events and encouraging to them to join in our fun and promote the principles of Leave No Trace.

SSE Airtricity Dublin Race Series, Half Marathon (Saturday 23 September 2017)

Dublin Marathon 2014The SSE Airtricity Dublin Race Half Marathon moves to a new venue this year, Newbridge House, Donabate on .  take place on the Bank Holiday Weekend of Saturday 23 September.  

Volunteer Ireland are recruiting Event Volunteers to work in the Volunteer Hub supporting the registration of volunteers at the event

We are also recruting Event Volunteers to be based in the Volunteer Hub on Race Day close to Newbridge House whose responsibility will be registering volunteers in the designated volunteer hubs for the event.

SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon (Friday 27 - Sunday 29 October 2017)

Dublin Marathon 2014The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2017 take place on the Bank Holiday Weekend of Sunday 29 October 2017.  Volunteer Ireland are recruiting Event Volunteers to work in the Volunteer Hub supporting the registration of volunteers at the RDS, Ballsbridge on Friday 28 October and Saturday 29 October.  

We are also recruting Event Volunteers to be based in the Volunteer Hub on Race Day, Sunday 29 October close in Start / Finish lines around Fitzwilliam and Merrion Square.

We are recruiting volunteers whose responsibility will be registering volunteers in the designated volunteer hubs for the event. 

There are a number of shifts on Friday and Saturday in the RDS and the same on Sunday so please select a shift that bestThis will be an early start so we offered a variety of shifts for you to sign up to. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us to help welcome the main volunteers and enthuse them to do a great job at the start and finish line.

Getting there
As the event commences very early on Sunday morning those on early volunteer shifts will need to make arrangements to get to their choosen location on time as Dublin Bus Services will be running a Sunday timetable and there will be majot interruptions to services.  There is no car parking available around the start / finish line and where possible we'd suggest using Train and Luas services to access the city.
