62. Pets in the City, Smithfield Plaza (Sunday 14 May 2017)

Pets in the CityCome and discover top dogs, curious cats and slithering snakes as Smithfield Square is transformed into a pet lovers paradise! Pets in the City, brought to you by Dublin City Council and supported by the DSPCA and King of Paws, will take place on Sunday 14 May in Smithfield Square, Dublin 7.

This free, family friendly event promises to be a great day out for animal lovers living in the city with a wide range of activities, stalls and entertainment. The DSPCA King of Paws Training Team will host Dog Agility Workshops and Scruffs Dog Show, where members of the public are invited to enter their own furry friends.

Times: set up to breakdown - 08.30 to 17.30. Open to public 11.30 to 16.30. Duties for all volunteers: Event set up - erecting gazebo pop up tents, flags & bunting and signage, laying out crowd control barriers, etc. We will also be involved in the event breakdown of same Volunteers are also needed for the Arts & crafts tent - to assist Children's Activities Executive. Volunteers will be required to actively engage with the public at the event. Please note there are a limited number of volunteer roles available first come, first served. Access The easiest way to get to Smithfield Plaza is via the Luas Red Line. Sunday services commence at 07:00.

65 & 66 Arcade Fire & The 1975, Malahide Castle Concerts (Wednesday 14 & Saturday 17 June 2017)

Malahide CastleAfter an absence of six years when Prince last performed in Malahide, concerts return to Malahide in June 2017. British rock band The 1975 will perform at the Northside venue on Saturday, June 17. Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire will play at the venue on Wednesday 14 of June. Event Volunteers will act as ambassadors to the venue in Malahide and assist with the following: Meet and greet almost 20,000 attendees to Malahide when gates open. Volunteer roles include: Provide information. Assist with directions before and following the concert plus a number of other ad hoc tasks as they may arise.

Please note this role does not include access to the concert and will be based in the grounds of Malahide Castle & Gardens.

64. Battle for the Bay, Dollymount (Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 May 2017)

Battle for the Bay 2017The concept of the Pure Magic Battle for the Bay Water Sports Festival is very simple: Fun, Wind, Water…and Fun!!! The best riders in the country and from around the globe will come and compete in one of the best kitesurfing spots in the world: Dollymount Beach! Home to the Puremagic gang.

Everyone is welcomed, young and old, to join this amazing celebration of Irish Kitesurfing, SUPing and Dublin style beach fun. You can expect loads of surprises during the bumper packed weekend! You can also visit the Battle for the Bay Facebook page and you can view a video which highlights last year's event. We require volunteers for both Saturday and Sunday Shifts.

Volunteer roles will include:

  • Welcoming and assisting with directions / parking (off the beach)
  • General Ambassador roles on the beach gives information
  • Practicing Leave No Trace and supporting the cleaning team in keeping the beach and island clean.
  • Alerting the security team for any concerns or issues our team may have

67. Dublin Kite Fest, Dollymount Beach (Sunday 18 June 2017)

Dublin KitefestDublin Kite Festival attracts attendees from around the country, brandishing an array of kites ready to take to the skies and beautify the Dublin skyline with a jumble of colour. There's free entertainment all day long ensuring that attendees enjoy a carefree afternoon reliving childhood memories of kite flying whilst having fun with friends and family.

Whether attendees are brilliant kite fliers, or failing kite triers everyone gets off the ground in the end as there are plenty of kiting experts ready to lend a hand.  The day is also boasted lively music, exciting games, kite making workshops and a kite flying competition

Volunteers are required from set up 07:30 to 18:30. Duties: Event set up - erecting gazebo pop up tents, flags & bunting and signage, laying out crowd control barriers, etc.

61. Generation 17, Dublin's Urban Music Festival Blanchardstown (Friday 21 April 2017)

This event (previously called Springbreak D15) is now in its fourth year for Event Volunteers. This is aimed at engaging young people in a music event and to encourage their participation in a non alcoholic event.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event who are willing to work with young people. Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event.

On site orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 18 and over.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers on Saturday and Sunday to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event. Full orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over.

There are a wide range of roles at this event and about 100 volunteers will engaged on site:

  • Queue management at ticket sales
  • Support role in livestock / farm area
  • Family Fun Area
  • Walled Garden - Information givers
  • Bus Queue Management
  • Support volunteers to assist with buggys and bags out from main area.
  • Information and map givers

Training will take place beforehand and on site orientation will take place each morning. Hot food and refreshments will be provided and volunteers will get to keep their volunteer uniforms.

63. Cricket Ireland Tri Nation Series, Malahide (Friday 12 & Sunday 21 May 2017)

Volunteers will be involved in welcoming spectators and providing support to the Events Team. We were looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles covered seating arrangements of the event and we got them. Full orientation, support and recognition will was provided. Roles were open to those aged 16 and over.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of an exciting and important day for cricket in Ireland. References can also be provided for volunteers if they wish. Catering will also be provided for all volunteers.

Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event. Full on site orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over. Volunteer Programme managed by Event Volunteers.

Fingal County Council host this parade which makes it way through the Main Street in Blanchardstown towards it finishing point at The Blanchardstown Centre. This is one of Ireland’s premier parades. The aim of event is to highlight community and local action across Fingal and to provide a way for families to come out and enjoy this great event. We are looking for happy, enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event.

Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event. Full on site orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over. Volunteer Programme managed by Event Volunteers.

58. SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon (Sunday 30 October 2016)

Dublin Marathon 2014Group 1: The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2016 road race stages are in Fingal and Phoenix Park and we're recruting for this event. This is the third time the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon has taken in Fingal County in its route.  Fingal Volunteer Centre are managing this part of the Volunteer Programme.

Event Volunteers will be hand to provide information to the general public and help support set up of the route in the area. 


Group 2: The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2016 starts and finishes around Fitzwilliam and Merrion Square and Volunteer Ireland will be managing the volunteer programme at the start / finish line. We are recruiting volunteers whose responsibility will be registering volunteers in the designated volunteer hub for the event.

This will be an early start so we offered a variety of shifts for you to sign up to. This is the pilot project and we'd like enthusiastic volunteers to join us to help welcome the main volunteers and enthuse them to do a great job at the start and finish line.

Please note that this year's and all future events take place on the Sunday of the October Bank Holiday Weekend.

57. Malahide's Marching Band Classic (Thursday 1 September 2016)

Malahide's Marching Band Classic

Malahide's Marching Band Classic is a unique event at Malahide Castle & Gardens on Thursday 1 September and we are looking for 10 volunteers to help be pasrt of muscial foot stamping event. The main duties will be directional and you would be based at Malahide DART station up to the entrance to Malahide Demesne (Hogan's Gate entrance). Volunteers are required between the hours of 16:30 and 19:00 and could then go in and watch the event.

This is a great event for anyone looking to improve their communications skills, you'll also get the opportuntiy to be part of this amazing. Buses and the DART train run right to the venue.

56. Ireland V. Sri Lanka International Cricket, Malahide (Thursday 16 & Saturday 18 June 2016)

55. Dublin Bay Prawn Festival, Howth (Friday 17 - Sunday 19 March)

Dublin Bay Prawn Festival We’re delighted to announce that a bigger and better Dublin Bay Prawn Festival takes place in Howth from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 March.  Whatever way you like your prawns – barbecued, whole, shelled, fried, skewered, marinated, sauced – Howth’s many award winning restaurants will serve your favourite prawn dishes in bite sized portions at the food village of this year’s Dublin Bay Prawn Festival, in addition to a variety of other minature dishes.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. The role will involve directing visitors to and from the DART Train station and giving information to visitors on the full programme of events.  Full orientation, support and recognition will be provided.  Roles open to those aged 16 and over. 

There are a wide range of roles at this event and about 12 volunteers will engaged on site each day in roles to include:

  • Queue management at the train station
  • Information and programme givers
  • Queue Management

Training will take place beforehand and on site orientation will take place each morning. Hot food and refreshments will be provided and volunteers will get to keep their volunteer uniforms.

54. Fingal Festival of Fire (Monday 31 October 2016)

Swords Fire Works as part of Octoberfest We are delighted to be part of the events for Fingal Festival of Fire 2016.  On the Monday night there'll be a fantastic fireworks session called Fingal Festival of Fire at Swords Castle, Main Street, Swords from 17:00 to 20:00 and we'll need Event Volunteers present in a variety of roles to help the general public have a safe and enjoyable evening at the fireworks. We'll have volunteers in fancy dress and costume helping to scare the young people at this spooktaacular event.

On site orientation and training will be provided which all volunteers must attend. Support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over.

53. Swords Summer Festival (Saturday 23 July 2016)

Swords Summer Festival 2016Swords Summer Festival returns to the Main Street in Swords this July, fun filled with theatre, music and sport to entertain locals and tourists alike. Most of Saturday will see a street party on Main Street with all the fun of the fair for the young and the young at heart and when evening rolls around, the street will be transformed into a concert venue with local acts providing the sounds.

Saturday will have children's entertainment on a closed off Swords Main Street in the afternoon.

The venue on the Main Street is open to the public from 12pm to 4pm and it is free family fun, bouncy castles etc. We also have a "Marquee In The Park" where there will be magicians etc. so we will need volunteers there as well.

Site Build Volunteers (Thursday and Friday only)
Volunteers are required to assist with the site build for Flavours of Fingal County Show 2016, assisting the Event Unit to build a successful, enjoyable safe event for all the attendees.

Volunteers will be provided with a meal on site each day from the on site caterers at Newbridge House & Gardens Volunteers will be involved in the set up of the event and assisting the events team in manual labour and lifting and settiing up the various elements of this annual event.

Volunteers who are interested in practical work in the outdoors and building their skills of event management would be particularly welcome. Volunteers should dress appropriately for outdoor manual work.

Volunteers should meet each day at 10am at the front of Newbridge House.  Free parking on site, Dublin Bus Service 33B to Portrane stops outside the main gate of the demesne.

50. Battle of Kells Medieval Fayre (Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 August 2016)

Battle of Kells Medieval FayreStep back in time with Event Volunteers to Kells' rich medieval past with a host of events including jousting, re-enactments, street theatre, falconry, story telling, living history demonstrations, archery and children's entertainment. We're recruiting Event Volunteers for a variety of roles over the two days of this festival.

All roles involve volunteers activities as ambassadors of the Kells and the festival itself.

Venue management (1) – helping in venue where lecture / films are taking place – greeting, seating, monitoring.

Venue management (2) – helping in the actual venue by walking round the venue, making sure it is litter free, keeping an eye out for potential problems, liaising with security

Administration – helping out with announcements, lost and found, raffle, etc. Assisting with food at the Pig on a Spit display – the meat is shredded and put into buns for sale to the public Assisting with patrolling the street between the venue and the campsite, and with helping monitor people crossing the road at the venue site. 

All volunteers must attend training / information session in advance of the event. These will take place in the Headfort Arms Hotel, Headfort Place, Kells, County Meath, A82  D2C1 on either Sunday 14 August or Tuesday 16 August 2016. All volunteers will receive support and supervision during the two days of the event.

Bus Éireann service 109 runs regularly from Busárus (Store Street) Dublin 1 to Kells and takes 1h 25m.  You can download the timetable from this link.  Please remember it a Saturday and Sunday schedule.

47. Fingal Festival of Football (Saturday 20 August 2016)

Fingal Festival of Football 2014

We're delighted to annouce that Fingal Festival of Football takes place again at AUL Complex, Clonshaugh in August 2016.

Fingal Festival of Football is a 1 day community football competition catering for boys & girls, special olympics, powerchair and street league competitions.

This volunteer role will be working as part of the events team with Fingal Volunteer Centre and the Events Office in Fingal County Council providing support and results back to Event Control and ensuring teams and players are in the correct location and pitch.

Volunteer Orientation will take place beforehand with a walk of the site at AUL Sports Complex, Clonshaugh Road, Closhaugh, Dublin 17. (Close to Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport) 1.4km north of the Hotel on your left hand side. Hot food, drinking water and a raincoat will be provided on the day.

Due to the remote location, there will be a free shuttle from Dublin city centre for all the registered volunteers! You can apply to be an Event Volunteer from here. Once you are registered you can sign up for the Fingal Festival of Football and let the volunteering fun begin!

45. Fingal Primary & Secondary Schools Athletics League, Balheary Park, Swords (Thursday 10 March 2016)

AthletcsThe races are run on at these two sites for the months of February and March, finishing with a Finals Day at Morton Stadium in April.

The aim of this league is to increase the number of children running in organised athletics races and to introduce those children to local athletics clubs. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event.

Full on site orientation, support and recognition will be provided.

Roles open to those aged 16 and over. Volunteer Programme managed by Event Volunteers.

44. Fingal Primary & Secondary Schools Athletics League, Porterstown Park (Tuesday 8 March 2016)

42. SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon (Monday 26 October 2015)

Dublin Marathon 2014The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2015 road race stage are in Fingal and Phoenix Park and we're recruting for this event. This is the second time the Dublin Marathon has taken in Fingal County in its route.

Event Volunteers will be hand to provide information to the general public and help support set up of the route in the area.  

Volunteers must attend training on Saturday 3 October which will take place in Fingal County Council Offices, Main Street Swords, Fingal.  Please ensure you sign up for both events when registering.

A free shuttle bus will operate along in the area from Heuston Station.

41. Swords Family Festival (Saturday 18 July 2015)

swords-festival-posterA new summer street festival is coming to the Main Street in Swords this July with three days filled with theatre, music and sport to entertain locals and tourists alike. Most of Saturday will see a street party on Main Street with all the fun of the fair for the young and the young at heart and when evening rolls around, the street will be transformed into a concert venue with local acts providing the sounds.

Saturday will have children's entertainment on a closed off Swords Main Street in the afternoon and there will be a concert on the Main Street on Saturday evening.

On Saturday 18th July Volunteers are needed to assist with the following - to help with stewarding, information provision, inflatables (supervising children at bouncy castles etc.) from approximately 12pm to 9pm.

40. Fingal Festival of Fire (Saturday 31 October 2015)

Swords Fire Works as part of Octoberfest We are delighted to be part of the events for Swords OktoberFest 2015.  On the Saturday night there'll be a fantastic fireworks session called Fingal Festival of Fire at Swords Castle, Main Street, Swords from 18:00 to 22:00 and we'll need Event Volunteers present in a variety of roles to help the general public have a safe and enjoyable evening at the fireworks.

On site orientation and fire training will be provided which all volunteers must attend. Support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over.

39. St Patrick's Day Parade, Blanchardstown (Thursday 17 March 2016)

Blanchardstown St. Patrick's Day ParadeSt. Patrick’s Day is Ireland’s National Holiday and it’s a time when communities around the country come together for a series of parades in every corner of the country.

Fingal County Council host this parade which makes it way through the Main Street in Blanchardstown towards it finishing point at The Blanchardstown Centre. This is one of Ireland’s premier parades. The aim of event is to highlight community and local action across Fingal and to provide a way for families to come out and enjoy this great event.

We are looking for happy, enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event. Full on site orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over. Volunteer Programme managed by Event Volunteers. 

Roles for this event include:

  • Parade Set up
  • Registering participants
  • Providing information to the general public
  • Assistance at take down after the parade

38. Blanchardstown Family Fun Day (Sunday 30 August 2015)

37. Dublin Bay Prawn Festival, Howth (Friday 18, Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 March 2016)

Dublin Bay Prawn Festival We’re delighted to announce that a bigger and better Dublin Bay Prawn Festival takes place in Howth from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 March.  Whatever way you like your prawns – barbecued, whole, shelled, fried, skewered, marinated, sauced – Howth’s many award winning restaurants will serve your favourite prawn dishes in bite sized portions at the food village of this year’s Dublin Bay Prawn Festival, in addition to a variety of other minature dishes.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. The role will involve directing visitors to and from the DART Train station and giving information to visitors on the full programme of events.  Full orientation, support and recognition will be provided.  Roles open to those aged 16 and over. 

There are a wide range of roles at this event and about 12 volunteers will engaged on site each day in roles to include:

  • Queue management at the train station
  • Information and programme givers
  • Queue Management

Training will take place beforehand and on site orientation will take place each morning. Hot food and refreshments will be provided and volunteers will get to keep their volunteer uniforms.

33. Fingal Festival of Football (Saturday 15 August 2015)

Fingal Festival of Football 2014We're delighted to annouce that Fingal Festival of Football takes place again at AUL Complex, Clonshaugh in August 2015.

This volunteer role will be working as parts of the events team with Fingal Volunteer Centre and the Events Office in Fingal County Council providing support and results back to Event Control and ensuring teams and players are in the correct location and pitch.

Volunteer Orientation will take place beforehand with a walk of the site at AUL Sports Complex, Clonshaugh Road, Closhaugh, Dublin 17. (Close to Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport) 1.4km north of the Hotel on your left hand side. Hot food, drinking water and a raincoat will be provided on the day.

 

 

 

 

 

32. Fingal 1916 Centenary Commemorative Day (Sunday 24 April 2016)

Swords 1916 Commemoration EventA State Ceremonial Event with the Raising of the Flag and the reading of the Proclamation will take place on Sunday 24th April 2016. This will be followed by a parade and additional events in Swords Town Park including re-enactments, music performances and an exhibition that tells the unique story that is “Fingal & the Fight for Irish Freedom.” The day will culminate with a firework display.

What’s Happening: Swords Castle & Town Park – Sunday 24th April 2016 4.45pm to 9.00pm
The Fingal 2016 Commemoration Event will commence with a Parade through Main Street, Swords at 4.45 p.m. The Parade will pause at the View Area for:
- State Ceremonial Element - Defence Forces
- Reading of the Proclamation
- Raising of the National Flag - Bugler Playing the Reveille
- Piper’s Lament
- A Wreath laying ceremony
- A Minutes silence

The Parade will then carry on into the Town Park. The event in the Park will include performances from Bands including: The Black Raven Pipe Band, St Maur’s Pipe Band, St Lawrence Pipe Band, St Patrick’s Pipe & Reed Band, The Communications Workers Union Band and Dublin 15 Brass Band, Enchiriadis Treis – Malahide Choir, Centenary Poetry Winning Entry – Loreto Secondary School Balbriggan Fireworks Display in Swords Town Park. Event will conclude at 9.00 pm.

A highlight of the event will be RothaÍocht na mBan, a cycle by a group of women in period costume, to commemorate the contribution of women in Fingal to the events of 1916. 

Volunteers will be involved in welcoming spectators and providing support to the Events Team. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event.

We are also looking for 10 volunteers to ride some old-style high nellie in traditional 1916 costumes, if you are interested in this role please check for more details when you apply to volunteer online.

31. Great Dublin Bike Ride (Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 September 2015)

Great Dublin Bike RideThe first Great Dublin Bike Ride, organised by Cycling Ireland is the mass participation bike ride for all abilities - from novice to expert. The Great Dublin Bike Ride takes place on Sunday 13th September with registration on Saturday 12th September.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, safety conscious Event Volunteers. Volunteers will meet in Smithfield or Swords and play a vital role in directing up to 5,000 cyclists through the course – and give them a cheer along the way! Volunteers are crucial to the operations of the event, the safety of the participants and the atmosphere of the day.

Two scenic routes (60km and 100km) have been designed for the event (subject to change, pending approval of the relevant bodies), with both routes starting and finishing in Smithfield.

26. Irish Blind Open Golf (Wednesday 2 July 2014)

Bling Golf Open 2014Many of the leading blind golfers in the world will take part in the revived Irish Blind Golf Open championship to be held at Roganstown golf and country club from July 2 to July 5 next.

The championship is being staged by the Irish Blind Golf Society with sponsorship assistance from Vision Sports Ireland and Dr Haruhisha Handa, a Japanese millionaire businessman, academic and philanthropist. The first Irish blind golf open championship was held in Bray, Co Wicklow in 1993 and subsequently at Mount Juliet and at Turvey.

The event at Roganstown affirms the status of Irish Blind Golf Society in the international blind golf community. Competitors from Australia, Japan, South Africa, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Canada, Scotland, Northern Ireland, England/Wales and the Republic of Ireland will bid for the Irish Open Championship over the North Co. Dublin course. Included in the entries are 2014 Australian Blind Golf Open Champion Kris Adams from Scotland, the 2013 British Blind Golf Open Champion, Chris Evans (England / Wales), the 2012 Italian Blind Golf Open Champion Mirco Ghiggeri from Italy and 2012 IBGA World Blind Golf Champion Pieta le Roux (England/Wales).

In all 33 golfers across three sight categories – B1 (totally blind) and visually impaired players in categories B2 and B3 – will compete. Blind golf is a team effort - each player has a guide who assists in setting up the shot. Nine of the thirty three competitors are totally blind (sight category B1), the remaining being visually impaired (sight categories B2 and B3. The four top ranked category B1 players as decided by the International Blind Golf Association will play in the tournament at Roganstown Golf and Country Club. Leading members of the Irish Blind Golf Society Jimmy Murray, Paul O’Rahilly, Wally Roode, Adrian Downey and Joe Lonergan will also take part.

The quality of the entry speaks highly of the reputation of Irish golf and Irish Blind Golf. Nearly 70 players and guides from eleven countries will be at Roganstown Golf and Country Club, which was designed by Christy O’Connor jnr, for the open.

23. Giro d’Italia Big Start 2014, Fingal Wide (Sunday 11 May 2014)

The Big Start 2014 / Giro d'Italia Ireland & Northern Ireland stagesThe Giro D’Italia is one of the largest classic road cycle races. The race is one of the highlights of the cycling season and is one of the toughest cycle races in the world. The year the race has its big start in Belfast, Northern Ireland before making its way through Armagh before running down the scenic East Coast through Balbriggan, Skerries and Malahide before heading to the finish line outside Government Buildings.

This is a once in a lifetime experience to see top class cyclists make their way through Northern Ireland and Ireland. In association with the Events Unit in Fingal County Council we are delighted to have Event Volunteers engaged in this event.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, safety conscious volunteers to be Ambassadors and for this event as it makes it way through County Fingal and our efforts will be focused in a number of locations. On site orientation will be provided which all volunteers must attend. Support and recognition will be provided.

20. Swords Brian Boru Festival 1014 - 2014 Pyrotechnics Show (Friday 25 April 2014)

Brian Boru 1014 ParadeThis event takes place Main Street, Swords and marks the 1000th anniversary of Brian Boro.

This event celebrates the life of Brian Ború (c. 941-1014), High King of Ireland (1002-1014), who was born, raised and ruled in the area that is now known as Killaloe, County Clare.

On Friday 25 April Fingal County Council will host a fire torch and parade to mark this event. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, safety conscious volunteers to be Ambassadors and Fire Marshals for this event.

On site orientation and fire training will be provided which all volunteers must attend. Support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over.

19. SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon (Monday 27 October 2014)

Dublin Marathon 2014The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2014 road race stages were in the Castleknock area of Fingal. This is the first time the Dublin Marathon has taken in Fingal County in its route.

Event Volunteers were on hand to provide information to the general public and help support set up of the route in the area.


18. Spring Break D15 Music Festival (Thursday 17 April 2014)

Spring Break D15This event took place at the Plaza at Council Offices, Grove Road, Blanchardstown. Spring Break D15 Music Fesitival was another new event for 2014 for Event Volunteers. This is aimed at engaging young people in a music event and to encourage their participation in a non alcoholic event.

14. Fingal Mini Legends 5km. Adventure Race, Donabate, (Saturday 15 March 2014)

Hell & Back 2014Fingal Mini Legends 5k Adventure Race was a new Adventure Race with a difference that we were involved with in 2014.  This particular event took place in the Newbridge Demense, Donabate, Fingal on Saturday 15 March 2014.

This is an outdoor role and you should expect to spend a lot of time on your feet. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event.

Full on site orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over. Volunteer Programme managed by Event Volunteers.

13. Ireland V. England Cricket Match, Malahide (Friday 8 May 2015)

Ireland V England Cricket at MalahideMalahide will be again be hosting the RSA Challenge Ireland v. England in Cricket on Friday 8 May 2015.

Join our Event Volunteers!  We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteers will be involved in welcoming spectators and providing support to the Events Team.

Full orientation, support and recognition will be provided. Roles open to those aged 16 and over. These are non spectator roles. Volunteer Programme managed by Fingal Volunteer Centre. Event Managed in conjunction with Fingal County Council's Event's Office.

Hot food and water will be provided on the day.

12. Fingal Primary School Athletics League, Balheary Park, Swords (Tuesday 11 March 2014)

AthletcsThe races run on at these two sites for the months of March, finishing with a Finals Day at Morton Stadium in March and April 2014.

The aim of this league is to increase the number of children running in organised athletics races and to introduce those children to local athletics clubs. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event.

Full on site orientation, support and recognition will be provided.

11. Fingal One4All St. Patrick’s Day Festival (Monday 17 March 2014)

St. Patrick's Day Parade, Main Street, SwordsSt. Patrick’s Day is Ireland’s National Holiday and it’s a time when communities around the country come together for a series of parades in every corner of the country.

Fingal County Council host the Fingal parade on Main Street, Swords each year and it’s one of Ireland’s premier parades. The aim of event is to highlight community and local action across Fingal and to provide a way for families to come out and enjoy this great event.

9. Arrival of Santa Claus at F2 Centre, Rialto (12 December 2013)

Event Volunteers give Santa at hand at his arrival at the F2 Centre, RialtoEvents Volunteers were delighted to play our part in making Santa's arrival at the F2 Centre in Rialto a little bit magical.

Our Volunteer Hub was on site and doubled as a hot chocolate station (yum) for all the volunteers and helpers on the night.  Even Santa commented on how well the tent was branded for Christmas.

8. RTE's At Your Service - CASA Breakhouse Makeover (November 2013)

Event Volunteers play their part in the At Your Service Christmas Special on RTÉ One televisionEvent Volunteers were approached to play an important role in the RTÉ One Television Show At Your Service To The Rescue which was broadcast on RTÉ One television on 26 December 2013.

We were delighted to assist with makeover of the Respite Centre, in particular our work focused on a major overhaul of the garden area along with internal work to the house.

We will have our behind the scenes photographs up on in the images section of our web site.  
The Brennan brothers are back for a special Christmas episode of At Your Service. Francis and John are coming to the aid of sixteen-year-old Conor Dillon and an Irish charity close to his heart, CASA (Caring and Sharing Association). Conor uses the CASA Respite Centre in Malahide, which it is in need of a revamp and the Brennan’s are going to make some changes.

The At Your Service Christmas Special was broadcast on RTÉ One from 20:00 on St. Stephen's Day (26 December 2013).  

7. Opening of Lusk United FC House (2 November 2013)

Opening of Lusk United New ClubhouseEvent Volunteers were on hand for the official opening of Lusk Utd’s New Clubhouse & Floodlit pitch [by John Delaney (FAI)] followed by Lusk Utd XI v FAI Over 40’s Game on Saturday 2 November 2013.

Event Volunteers were involved in set-up, parking, ticketing and general duties around the event.

This role was open to volunteers from all backgrounds and nationalities and was open to volunteers aged 16 and over.  

 

6. Fingal Primary Schools Athletics League (October & November 2013)

Fingal Primary Schools Athletics League 2014The Fingal Primary School Athletics League run by Fingal County Council Sports Office takes place on October 15 & 22, November 12 & 19.

The aim of this league is to increase the number of children running in organised athletics races and to introduce those children to local athletics clubs.

Event Volunteers are recruiting Volunteers to help run these run these sporting events in association with the Fingal Sports Office.

5. Flavours of Fingal County Show, Donabate (14 & 15 September 2013)

Flavours of Fingal Volunteer ProgrammeDo you want to be part of Fingal’s Family, Food and Farm Show which takes place in Newbridge House & Gardens, Donabate, Fingal, County Dublin.

4. Ireland V. England Cricket Match, Malahide (3 September 2013)

Ireland V England CricketEvent volunteers were at Fortress Malahide for the RSA Challenge Ireland v. England Cricket on Tuesday 3 September 2013.

Volunteers were involved in welcoming spectators and providing support to the Events Team. We were looking for enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event. Volunteer roles covered seating arrangements of the event and we got them.

Full orientation, support and recognition will was provided.  Roles were open to those aged 16 and over. 

3. Fingal Festival of Football, Clonshaugh (17 August 2013)

Fingal Festival of FootballThe Fingal Festival of Football takes place on Saturday 17 August and is an annual event that is hosted by Fingal County Council. It started in a much smaller format as the 'Harmony Cup' but has grown immensely since then.

In the past there have been teams from all over Ireland and Europe participating in this magnificent youth sports event. This year is a special anniversary as we are celebrating 11 years of the festival. The Fingal Festival of Football is a unique event as it includes boys and girls football as well as participants with intellectual and physical disabilities.

In the past there have been youth teams travelling from the UK, Italy, Germany and Spain to play in the Fingal competition and this year promises to be even better than last year. This volunteer role will be working as part of the events team with Fingal Volunteer Centre and the Events Office in Fingal County Council providing support and results back to Event Control and ensuring teams and players are in the correct location and pitch.
