What tasks can Event Volunteers do?
Event Volunteers was setup to respond to various events, as well as responding to calls for large groups of people to volunteer at community events such as concerts, environmental events, sporting events and community events.
Roles may include community clean-ups, tree-planting, stewarding, acting as event ambassadors, providing information to the general public, as well as promoting Event Volunteers at our Volunteer Hub. Much of the volunteering will be outdoor and include some physical activity so volunteers will be expected to bear this in mind when volunteering to be part of Event Volunteers. We will not undertake fund raising roles for an organisation.
How does it work?
Once it has been established that the project has the necessary supports (including clear volunteering role describitions, insurance, co-ordinator), then Event Volunteers will be contacted to inform them of an upcoming event.
Once they indicate their availability and willingness to participate, potential Event Volunteers will then be engaged in orientation and training prior to the event.
