SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon (Friday 27 – Sunday 29 October 2017)

Dublin Marathon 2014The SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon 2017 take place on the Bank Holiday Weekend of Sunday 29 October 2017.  Volunteer Ireland are recruiting Event Volunteers to work in the Volunteer Hub supporting the registration of volunteers at the RDS, Ballsbridge on Friday 28 October and Saturday 29 October.  

We are also recruting Event Volunteers to be based in the Volunteer Hub on Race Day, Sunday 29 October close in Start / Finish lines around Fitzwilliam and Merrion Square.

We are recruiting volunteers whose responsibility will be registering volunteers in the designated volunteer hubs for the event.

There are a number of shifts on Friday and Saturday in the RDS and the same on Sunday so please select a shift that bestThis will be an early start so we offered a variety of shifts for you to sign up to. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us to help welcome the main volunteers and enthuse them to do a great job at the start and finish line.

Getting there
As the event commences very early on Sunday morning those on early volunteer shifts will need to make arrangements to get to their choosen location on time as Dublin Bus Services will be running a Sunday timetable and there will be majot interruptions to services.  There is no car parking available around the start / finish line and where possible we’d suggest using Train and Luas services to access the city.

Dublin Marathon 2014The SSE Airtricity Dublin Race Half Marathon moves to a new venue this year, Newbridge House, Donabate on .  take place on the Bank Holiday Weekend of Saturday 23 September.  

Volunteer Ireland are recruiting Event Volunteers to work in the Volunteer Hub supporting the registration of volunteers at the event

We are also recruting Event Volunteers to be based in the Volunteer Hub on Race Day close to Newbridge House whose responsibility will be registering volunteers in the designated volunteer hubs for the event.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us to help welcome the main volunteers and enthuse them to do a great job at the start and finish line.

Getting there
For events on Friday and Saturday you can take any of the Dublin Bus Services that go to Ballsbridge or the DART train.

Event Volunteers launch 2014 Programme

Full details of training and orientation for events will be announced prior to each event.

For the Brian Boru 1014 Commemorations all volunteers will be required to undergo fire safety training. Volunteers for the Giro d’Italia Cycle Race will be based in either Balbriggan, Skerries or Malahide and transport will be provided from a central location on that day. Event Volunteers lend a hand for the arrival of Santa at F2 Centre, Rialto

Event Volunteers give Santa at hand at his arrival at the F2 Centre, RialtoEvents Volunteers were delighted to play our part in making Santa’s arrival at the F2 Centre in Rialto a little bit magical.

Our Volunteer Hub was on site and doubled as a hot chocolate station (yum) for all the volunteers and helpers on the night.  Even Santa commented on how well the tent was branded for Christmas.  ‘Dont forget Santa … We’re here to Help”

Event Volunteers on television on St. Stephen’s Day (December 26)

Some of our hard working Event Volunteers at the CASA Breakhouse in Malahide as part of the TV Programme - At Your Service To The RescueEvent Volunteers were delighted to be asked to be part of the Christmas Special of At Your Service – To the Rescue which will be broadcast on RTÉ One on St. Stephen’s Day, Thursday 26 December from 20:00 to 21:00.  Event Volunteers were on hand to assist the Brennan Brothers with the makeover of the CASA Breakhouse in Malahide, Dublin.

A nationwide call went out for volunteers, expertise and materials to makeover the house in one week. A fantastic team of volunteers and builders came on board to help out witht he maekover of the CASA Breakhouse.  Check out the show in RTÉ One on Stephen’s Day and see how we got on.  The programme will be available on the RTÉ Player from December 27th.  Behind the scenes photographs to let you see all the hard work that goes into a project of this size will be available from www.eventvolunteers.ie from December 27th.
