What are Event Volunteers?

Staff and Volunteers working together is a key to the success of any Event VolunteersvpartnershipThe notion of Event Volunteers came around in early 2013. The Fingal Volunteer Centre team had worked on a number of Volunteer Management events projects and we were aware that some volunteers were not having the best expereience of volunteering at these events.

As a brokerage for volunteers and volunteer involving organisations Volunteer Centres are well positioned to know and understand what good volunteer management means.

The concept of Event Volunteers comes from two strands: South Dublin County Volunteer Corps (run by South Dublin Volunteer Centre) and City Guides run Volunteer Centre Westminster (London).  Both projects are very different in what they offer and we believe that Event Volunteers owes a lot to both projects in how we have developed the concept of Event Volunteers.  In addition along the way our team have gained much experience in running Volunteer Management for other organisations including Volunteer Ireland.

In order to register as an Event Volunteer you must be 16 years or older on the day you apply, in the case of some events you may need to be 18 to volunteer.  There is no upper age limit.
