Battle for the Bay Water Sports Festival (Saturday 25 & Sunday May 2019)

TBattle for the Bay he concept of the Pure Magic Battle for the Bay Water Sports Festival is very simple: Wind, Water…and Fun!!!

The best riders in the country and from around the globe will come and compete in one of the best kitesurfing spots in the world: Dollymount Beach. Everyone is welcome to join this amazing celebration of Irish Kitesurfing, SUPing and Dublin style beach fun.

We are now recruiting Event Volunteers for both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th of May 2019. Event volunteer roles will include: Welcoming and assisting with directions/parking (off the beach), General Ambassador roles on the beach gives information, Practising Leave No Trace and supporting the cleaning team in keeping the beach clean, Alerting the security team for any concerns or issues our team may have.

91. School Summit, National Show Centre Swords (Monday 10 & Tuesday 11 September 2018)

School Summit 2018School Summit will take place on the 10th and 11th of September 2018 in The National Show Centre, Swords, Co Dublin.

The Event will cater for all Senior Cycle Sector Students and their Teachers and will offer students the opportunity to explore, engage and experience the many opportunities that are available totem across a number of disciplines and sectors that are prevalent in Irish Education today including education opportunities, careers, apprenticeships, languages, travel, mental health, sport, technology, STEM, arts etc.

The aim of event is to highlight the number of educational opportunities and resources available to students within senior cycle sector and to promote positive life choices. We are looking for happy enthusiastic, reliable and motivated volunteers to be Ambassadors for this event on Monday 10th and/or Tuesday 11th of September 2018 from 09:00 – 16:00

Volunteer roles cover all aspects of the event:
– Help with the Exhibition Set up from 09:00
– Registering Schools (Students & Teachers) on arrival
– Handing out tickets, goodie bags, & programmes
– Distribution Stall
– Providing Information to Students, Teachers & Exhibitors
– Assistance at tidy up after the Exhibition
– Directions and information giving

Tall Ships Regatta Dublin 2018 (Friday 1 – Monday 4 June 2018)

Belem Tall ShipVolunteer Ireland is delighted to announce that an international fleet of Tall Ships will stop over in Dublin as part of a Tall Ships Regatta 2018 race series, and we look forward to managing the volunteer programme for this event.

A Dublin welcome for the international crews
The ships will arrive in Dublin from Liverpool on Friday 1st June, departing on Monday the 4th June for Bordeaux. We will welcome the crews, and help them to experience the cultural events that the city has to offer.

The Tall Ships Regatta 2018 is a smaller event than previous Tall Ships Race events that have previously visited Ireland.

We are now recruiting Event Volunteers
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, safety conscious Event Volunteers to be ambassadors for the Tall Ships Regatta when it comes to Dublin from Friday 1 June to Monday 4 June 2018.

Volunteers will play a vital role in supporting the event. Volunteers are crucial to the operations of the event, welcoming the ships crews and trainees and the atmosphere for everyone on the day. Volunteers will be provided with refreshments during their shift, a certificate of participation and will be supported by a team of Volunteer Managers.

Volunteer Training
Volunteer Training is mandatory for all volunteers at the event. Volunteers must attend one of training sessions which includes a site walk on either Saturday 19 May 10:00 to 13:30 or Tuesday 29 May 18:00 to 21:30.

The Volunteer Training venue is the Dublin Docklands Office, Dublin City Council, 1 Custom House Quay, Dublin 1, D01 KF84. Volunteers will be provided with resource materials, a volunteer workbook and volunteer handbook.

Volunteer Applications close on Friday 25 May 2018 or as soon as volunteer places are filled. Applicants for these roles must be aged 18 or over.

77. Marathon Kids Final Mile Event (Thursday 30 November)

Marathon Kids Final Mile Event 2017Marathon Kids has its Final Mile Event in Morton Stadium, Santry on Wednesday 22 November, join us as Event Volunteer

South Dublin County Council along with Fingal County Council have organised this 8 week programme targeting 5th & 6th Class students in schools in Fingal and South Dublin.

Students will perform four running sessions each week inching them closer to completing their first marathon as well as learning about the benefits of physical activity. The finale will see the students running their last mile and completing the marathon at Morton Stadium and we are looking for volunteers to join us to suport the event.

74. Coca-Cola European Sandyachting Championship (Monday 11 – Friday 15 September)

Would you like to volunteer at a European Sporting Competition?

Ireland plays host to the Coca-Cola 52nd European Sand Yachting Championships on Bettystown & Laytown beaches, County Meath from Monday 11 to Friday 15 September 2017. Now is your chance to join is this amazing sport as an Event Volunteer.

The event will be held on the expansive beaches where over 100 of the best land sailors in Europe will race over a five day period. The Meath coastline has always been a popular venue for national and visiting land sailors and is no stranger to this type of sailing as the Irish Power Kite and Sandyacht Association (IPKSA) regularly hold events there.
We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, reliable, safety conscious Event Volunteers.

This is a great opportunity for people to have fun, provide support and meet some new people we well as helping to promote Meath as a destination. Volunteers will be based on the beach acting as ambassdaors for the event and engaging with the general public and spectators to ensure that we have a safe event for all present. We are asking to volunteers to contribute a maximum of two days across the five days of the volunteer programme.

All volunteers are required to attend training which will help brief you about the sport and the event itself. We’ll also ensure that you get the most from the experience of volunteering. Volunteers will receive food and refreshements during their volunteering shift as well recognition for their contribution of time.

You will be managed by experienced volunteer managers on site. Here are a few reasons to join our team at this event:
– It’s a great way to enjoy the (late) summer and meet new people – It’s an opportunity to cheer and encourage the 100 participants from all over Europe
– Supervision by experienced Volunteer Managers

Transport
You need to organise your own transport to and from the venues and unfortuntaly we can’t cover transport costs. If you are driving from Dublin allow 45 minutes for the journey. Free on-street and on-beach parking is available close to Laytown Racecourse.

Volunteer screening and selection
As part of our screening and selection procedures all volunteers are required to provide one form of valid in date photographic ID at the Volunteer Training. All volunteers must upload a photograph to their profile as part of the application process.

Volunteer Hub and shift times
Each day Event volunteers will be required to sign in and out at the Volunteer Hub which will be based at Laytown Racecourse, Coast Road (R150), Laytown, County Meath. (Map Location https://goo.gl/maps/ApQpiFtf48J2).

Shift times vary each day dependent on tides and commence at 07:30 on Monday and get later as the week goes on. When you apply to volunteer you can select the day / time that suits you best, please remember you must be there for the full shift.

64 & 65 Arcade Fire & The 1975, Malahide Castle Concerts (Wednesday 14 & Saturday 17 June 2017)

Malahide CastleAfter an absence of six years when Prince last performed in Malahide, concerts return to Malahide in June 2017. British rock band The 1975 will perform at the Northside venue on Saturday, June 17. Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire will play at the venue on Wednesday 14 of June. Event Volunteers will act as ambassadors to the venue in Malahide and assist with the following: Meet and greet almost 20,000 attendees to Malahide when gates open. Volunteer roles include: Provide information. Assist with directions before and following the concert plus a number of other ad hoc tasks as they may arise.

Please note this role does not include access to the concert and will be based in the grounds of Malahide Castle & Gardens.

72. 12th Lock Harvest Festival, Castleknock (Sunday 10 September 2017)

12th Lock Harvest FestivalThe 12th Lock Harvest Festival is a new event taking place at the 12th Lock, Royal Canal, Castleknock and is a family friendly celebration. This event offers free entertainment all day and is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday with family and friends.

There’ll be a variety of games to play on the day. Times: set up to breakdown – 08.30 to 17.30

Duties: Event set up – erecting gazebo pop up tents, flags & bunting and signage, laying out crowd control barriers, etc. Event breakdown of above. Arts & crafts tent – 2 volunteers to assist Children’s Activities Executive and General stewarding.

76. Busker Fleadh, Smithfield (Sunday 8 October 2017)

Busker FleadhA variety of busking acts from around the country will perform in Smithfield Plaza on Sunday 8 October as part the Busker Fleadh. Organised by Dublin City Council, this free family event showcases the best of independent music and performance in an electrifying atmosphere.

The line up of performers covers a range of genres, ages and nationalities, from folk band Sonnets and Sisters to international acts. Aside from the musical talents, spectators can wander the cobbles of Smithfield and enjoy many street spectacles.

Dublin FunfestDublin Fun Fest is coming to Smithfield Plaza, a family friendly celebration on Sunday 27 August. Brought to you by Dublin City Council, this event offers free entertainment all day long and is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday with family and friends.

Family Fun Fest will attract visitors from across Ireland and is sure to be an invigorating event from start to finish. There will also be a variety of inflatable games to play with including basketball shoot out, sumo wrestling inflatable ring, bouncy boxing ring, soccer penalty shoot out and giant jenga.
